The Lindon City Public Works Department consists of 13 full-time employees, 2 part-time employees and one temporary summer-help employee. This department has responsibility over various areas. They manage and maintain city streets and sidewalks. They take care of and maintain 50 miles of streets including snow removal. They maintain all culinary water lines. Public Works maintains and manages the city secondary water system which operates from April to October. In cooperation with Orem City, Public Works maintains all city sewer lines which run to the Orem City's Waste Water Treatment Plant. Lindon City has an excellent storm water drainage system.
The City also has various parks that are maintained by the Public Works Department.
All City Engineering is contracted through J.U.B. Engineers in Orem, Utah. The Public Works department as well as the Planning Department work very closely with this office.
The Public Works Department administers inspections of water, waste water, solid waste collection, streets and related transportation problems. Public Works is responsible for determining major departmental policies and planning long term programs and for making difficult technical decisions. Work is performed under the administrative direction of the City Administrator and reviewed through conferences and reports.

There are 4 divisions within the Public Works Department. They are as follows:
Water Division -

Heath Peters - Water System Maintenance Techinician
Lindon's water for culinary uses, originates from springs East of the City and wells located throughout the City. Lindon City also has installed a pressurized irrigation system City-wide to accommodate the ever-growing need for water. Secondary residential pumping facilities are also found throughout Lindon. The secondary water is billed monthly and the water is supplied through the canals during the summer months. Make sure your children do not drink this water, as it is only meant to be used outside on trees, plants, bushes, and lawns and is not treated. Early in the spring, the canals (North Union Irrigation Company, Hollow Water Irrigation Company, Cobbley Ditch Irrigation Company and the Salt Lake Aqueduct) supply the Lindon reservoirs with secondary water.
Parks Division -
Wade Webb - Parks Superintendent
