Public Works Asks For Your Assistance

Lindon City is experiencing difficulities in our sewer collection system.  We have had an increase in the number of disposable shop towels collecting in our distribution lines, as well as our lift stations.  This greatly increases the chances of sewage backing into homes and businesses.  We are asking that you be aware of what is going into your drains and remind your families, employees and associates, as well.  We would also like to remind you that dumping any kitchen grease or oils into your drains causes similar problems.  Staying aware of what goes into your pipes helps all of us avoid sewer backups and failures.  Thank you for your cooperation and assistance.

HELP PREVENT CRYPTOSPORIDIUM THIS SUMMER

We all need to do our part in keeping swimming pools clean and healthy this summer. Crypto is resistant to normal pool chlorine levels and can live in a normal chlorinated pool for days.  Here are six ways promote healthy swimming:
PLEASE don't swim when you have diarrhea and for two weeks afterward.  This is especially important for kids in diapers.
PLEASE don't swallow pool water
PLEASE practice good hygiene.  Take a shower before swimming and wash your hands after using the restroom or changing diapers.
PLEASE take your kids for bathroom breaks and change diapers often.  Waiting to here "I have to go!" may mean it's too late.
PLEASE change diapers in the restroom and not at poolside.
PLEASE wash your child thoroughly with soap and water before swimming.
For more information safe swimming practices, please visit the Utah County Health Department web site at www.UtahCountyHealth.org and click on "Preventing Mr. Crypto," or call 851-7525
